New York Times Blogger Declares Personal “Support Pork Week”

New York Times blogger Indrani Sen isn’t directly involved in the pork industry (as we are), but after weeks of unyielding “swine flu” coverage, she has declared this week her personal ‘Support Pork Week.’

Her rationale: Both experts and public health officials have repeatedly assured the public they cannot become infected with the more appropriately named H1N1 flu by eating pork or pork products.

Sen began her stand for pork by enjoying a slow-roasted pork shoulder and went on to serve garlic pork kielbasa at a gathering in her home. What’s next you ask? Jennifer Small, co-owner of the Flying Pigs Farm in Shushan, New York, made a few pork-friendly meal suggestions for Indrani’s next seven days.
