Alpharma Animal Health's Agriculture Student Video Contest is back for a second year. The video contest is part of Alpharma's Reach Teach Learn educational stewardship program. September 8, 2009 marked the start of the contest, which continues through the 2009 fall semester.
The competition challenges college students to bring agriculture to life by creating a video that demonstrates current agriculture issues and the role of modern agriculture in American society.
All college students are encouraged to participate in the contest, with the chance to win up to $5,000. The contest includes three phases, the first of which concludes on Friday, October 16. This is an open call for agriculture-related video clips, 2-20 seconds in length. And what gets college students more motivated than the chance to earn some money? To encourage participation, students are rewarded with a $25 gift card for each clip they submit (limit of 10) by 11:59 on October 16.
During the second phase, students can download any of the clips from phase one and any additional media of their own to produce their own unique full-length videos. Finished videos are then uploaded to the contest site, where the final voting phase takes place. Winners will be announced on January 4, 2010.
