#Ag Tweet of The Week: The Winner? Everyone Who Thanked A Farmer

Since November 25 was officially "Thank a Farmer" day it's no surprise the subject found its way to Twitter during the week of  Thanksgiving. Although we associate Thanksgiving with turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries and a bevy of other delicious foods (all courtesy of farmers, of course) some in the ag community reminded us of the many reasons — beyond food — why we should #thankafarmer.

Here's what some of you tweeted:
  • @KansasPorkNews: Hogs are a source of insulin, heart valves, skin for burn victims and nearly 20 drugs and pharmaceuticals. #thankafarmer
  • @celestelaurent: Farmers don't just raise food. #thankafarmer for cotton clothes, leather shoes, & biofuels!
  • @USGC: From plastic, to ink, to paper to .... Farmers are responsible for it! #thankafarmer
You can still thank a farmer by including the hashtag #thankafarmer in your tweets as well as adding a twibbon to your avatar.
